Major firms are rapidly expanding their tech workforce: software engineers, data scientists, network engineers and other technical roles are continuously advertised. Below we profile leading UAE companies by headcount and hiring patterns, including any available salary insights. UAE tech companies hiring in 2025
Telecommunications & Digital Providers
- e& (Etisalat) – The UAE’s largest telecom operator with ~40,000 employees across 16 countries. Etisalat (now e&) has been a technology pioneer (e.g. it launched 5G in the UAE in 2019) and routinely hires IT/networking talent. Its careers site and recruitment campaigns list dozens of openings for software engineers, data scientists, telecom engineers, etc. (Exact salary ranges vary by role; by comparison, senior software engineers in UAE telcos often earn on the order of AED 12–16K per month depending on experience.)
- Du (Emirates Integrated Telecom Co.) – The other major UAE telecom, with about 2,756 employees. Du provides mobile, fixed and ICT services and is building its digital infrastructure (5G, fiber networks, cloud services). It regularly posts jobs in network engineering, IT operations, and software development to support these digital initiatives.
AI, Data & ICT Companies
- G42 (Artificial Intelligence & Cloud) – Abu Dhabi–based AI powerhouse (backed by Mubadala, Microsoft, etc.). G42 reports roughly 25,000 employees as of 2024, comprising “AI experts, engineers, and visionaries” from 85+ countries. The group encompasses multiple technology firms (e.g. Bayanat). G42 has hired aggressively in the past 2–3 years, opening teams in cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity and software development. (Software engineers at G42 have a median total compensation around AED 408K per year)
- Injazat Data Systems (IT Services) – Mubadala’s digital transformation arm. Injazat has about 1,300 employees providing cloud, cybersecurity and IT services to UAE government and enterprise clients. It continually hires for software and systems engineering, cloud architects, and data roles. According to salary surveys, Injazat engineers earn roughly AED 27,000 per month on average (~AED 324K/yr)
- DarkMatter (Cybersecurity) – A leading cyber security firm in Abu Dhabi. Around 2018 it had ~650 staff(with plans to grow to ~900) specializing in secure communications, intelligence and cryptography. DarkMatter frequently recruits cyber engineers, security analysts and R&D personnel for its advanced security projects.
- Anghami (Music Streaming) – A Dubai/Abu Dhabi–based digital media startup. It employs on the order of 150–160 people across its UAE and regional offices. Anghami’s R&D teams build its streaming platform and AI recommender; software engineers there reportedly earn a median total compensation of about $105K/year (roughly AED 385K). The company periodically lists openings for developers, data scientists and product managers.
- Alef Education (EdTech) – An Abu Dhabi–headquartered AI-powered education firm. It has roughly 404 employees focused on developing its cloud-based learning platform. Alef’s engineering and data teams work on adaptive learning algorithms. Conglomerates & Other Sectors
- Emirates Group (Aviation/Logistics) – Parent of Emirates Airline and dnata, employing over 121,000 people as of 2024 This group is expanding – it added ~3,700 new hires in early 2025 (reaching ~124,927 total) – to support its global operations. While not a pure tech company, Emirates invests heavily in IT: systems for reservations, operations, maintenance analytics, cargo logistics, etc. Its careers portal shows many openings for developers, data engineers and IT specialists, reflecting its digital modernization.
- ADQ (Holding Company) – A large Abu Dhabi sovereign holding. ADQ itself (and its subsidiaries) employs roughly 77,000 people across sectors including energy, transportation, healthcare and technology. It has launched “ADQ Digital” to incubate tech ventures and often lists jobs in data analytics, fintech and health tech (through its portfolio companies).
- Emirates NBD (Banking) – The UAE’s largest bank (headquartered in Dubai) with over 35,000 employees. Emirates NBD is aggressively transforming digitally, with initiatives in mobile banking, blockchain and AI. It frequently hires software engineers, data scientists and IT project managers. (For reference, tech roles in major UAE banks often pay in the AED 20K–30K per month range, depending on seniority.)
- DP World (Ports & Logistics) – Global port operator based in Dubai, with ~103,000 employees worldwide While a logistics company, DP World is investing in technology (automated terminals, supply-chain platforms). Its UAE unit recruits in IT, data analytics and engineering to support its digital initiatives.
- PureHealth (Healthcare) – Abu Dhabi’s network of public/private hospitals and clinics. PureHealth operates 100+ hospitals and 300+ clinics and employs ~56,000 people(mostly medical staff, but also large IT/digital teams for health informatics). It is building healthcare IT systems (like electronic health records) and regularly hires IT professionals, though we found no detailed salary figures.
